THE PONTE DEI MILLE MARITIME STATION:
A FASCINATING LOCATION FOR EVENTS

Since 1930, the year of its inauguration, the Ponte dei Mille Maritime Station
with its imposing façade has represented an ideal meeting point between the city of Genoa and its harbour.
As the scene of the great period of migrations and of the golden age
of the great transatlantic liners it is perhaps the most beautiful Maritime Station in the world
and certainly the richest in terms of history and symbolic value.
The restoration work carried out between 1999 and 2001 by the Genoa Port Authority
and Stazioni Marittime S.p.A. has restored and enhanced a monumental historic-architectural heritage
of the utmost worth and fascination, that evokes the luxury, the love of art and the refinement
that has always been a characteristic of Genoa and its inhabitants.
For these reasons the Ponte dei Mille Maritime Station halls are now considered
to be one of the most exclusive and fascinating locations, at national level,
where social events and gala dinners can be organised in an inimitable setting,
suspended over the waters of the harbour.
The central gallery, consisting of two divisible rooms, has a total floor area of about 2,500 square metres
and can host dinners and events for over 1,500 people.
Two imposing entrance halls directly connected to the square in front of the building precede the gallery
which projects itself out into the sea with a splendid vaulted ceiling of pitch-pine, iron and glass,
most of which is original.
The two great boarding terraces, adjacent to the gallery on the western and eastern sides,
are particularly striking and provide a viewpoint from which one can admire the fascinating panorama
of the harbour and the city.
In the First Class Saloon, which covers a surface area of about 800 square metres and is directly connected
to the central gallery, one can breathe the elegance and the retro atmosphere of the early twentieth century.
With its murals, its wooden doors, its original terrace floors and the adjacent boarding terrace
suspended above the harbour, the First Class Saloon is the most refined and prestigious location
which one could ask for, perfectly suited for the highest level events of any kind.
Since 2002 many top quality events have been hosted inside the Ponte dei Mille Maritime Station,
with important and prestigious national and international companies including, Coca Cola, Mercedes Benz,
Porsche, BMW, Banca d’Italia, Ucina, Organisers of the Giro d’Italia,
UMS General Marine, Continental, Merloni, and the important international meeting
of the “Shipbrokers and Ship Agents Dinner”.
The halls have also been the scene of various inaugurations of great cruise ships.
