Stazioni Marittime S.p.A. was founded in 1987 having as its corporate purpose the planning,
construction and management of the Passenger Terminals of Genoa Harbour.
The area and relative infrastructures are owned by the company under state concession until 2040.
The site comprises approximately 240,000 square metres of quays and open spaces,
offering more than 3,000 linear metres divided into 15 berths, for potential use by both ferries
and cruise ships, subject to technical specifications.
There are five Passenger Terminals in the area:
three are prevalently used for ferry traffic, Calata Chiappella, Ponte Caracciolo
and Ponte Colombo terminals, while the other two terminals, the Ponte dei Mille Maritime Station
and the Ponte Andrea Doria Maritime Station,
are prevalently used for cruise ship traffic, presenting high quality and safety standards,
as well as being equipped with mobile gangways to access the ships.
In any case, the five Passenger Terminals managed by Stazioni Marittime S.p.A.,
can potentially be used either for cruise or ferry traffic, in view of the features of the berths,
the quality of the structures, the services available and the fully equipped security area.
The administration of the real estate and business area is certainly also of great relevance
since it involves the management of a shopping centre, office areas, various business
and other spaces allocated to a variety of uses and services.
